sliding scale self-defense classes - below are just some
of the classes the Center offers. Please call

Adult Self-Defense for Women and Transpeople- Includes
effective, simple physical techniques, as well as safety and prevention
discussions — geared
to people of all ages & levels of ability. Free spaces
for survivors of domestic & sexual
Brooklyn Women’s Martial Arts (BWMA)
Karate for Adult Women and Transpeople - Includes challenging,
supportive non-competitive classes. Beginner’s classes meet
on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Saturdays. New students start
the first week of each month.
Conditioning Class for Adult Women and Transpeople
an energizing mix of martial arts moves that build strength, endurance,
focus & flexibility, & decreases stress. New students welcome
anytime. Mondays, 7:00 – 8: 00 pm. Class fee is $14
unless enrolled as a martial arts student. Discounts available.
BWMA Tai Chi Chuan for Adult Women and Transpeople
the centering, strengthening, and gentle moves of this meditative
martial art. New students begin any time. Thursdays, 6:10-8:00 pm.
All programs have sliding scale fees based on income,
unless otherwise indicated, and free childcare is available during
class to all students.
