Julia:
I’ve been volunteering with RightRides for one year, and I really value being part of this organization. I love the inspired activism, the grassroots model, and particularly the ability to see and talk to the real people who benefit from such work. It’s not drastic immediate change, but it’s small scale, steady work, that has the ability to change consciousness and actions. I also just have a great time each night I go out with a new driver (and, not being a driver myself, I’m in awe of everyone’s sweet driving skills). With completely equal weight, I have to thank RightRides for deepening my understanding of Brooklyn neighborhoods.I’m always interested in meeting new people who are interested in changing the world, and RightRides certainly draws all different kinds of people who share common ideals. That an organization like RightRides exists helps me to remember that it’s not crazy to envision a world where violence against women and girls doesn’t exist, so thank you all!
